As we approach Labor Day, we would like to highlight the 2014 Labor Day statement from the U.S. bishops. It focuses on unemployment among young people. The statement was released by the chairman of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski of Miami. It draws on Pope Francis’ teaching against an “economy of exclusion.”
