The Iowa Catholic Conference Human Life and Dignity Committee will meet on Sept. 4 in Ankeny to consider legislative priorities ahead of the 2015 legislative session. The committee replaces the former Pro-Life, Social Concerns and Family Life Committees to speak with one voice in support of the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized. Members will focus on applying Catholic social and moral teaching to proposals for legislative priorities, from abortion to immigration and poverty to end-of-life issues. The committee will present a draft of the legislative priorities to the ICC Board of Directors for approval in October.
